Cover Story

The Manero is virtuoso watchmaking craftsmanship in its most authentic form, a timeless classic of discreet yet powerful elegance. Carl F. Bucherer has often reinterpreted this iconic watch, retaining its classical codes and yet making it leap into the future. The brand does it once again with a new addition to the highly successful Manero Peripheral family, which was first launched in 2016.

We hence welcome the new 43-millimeter rose gold Manero Peripheral. This watch complements the collection’s existing 40.6-millimeter models. One of the highlights of the Manero was the classic round form. This somehow reflects the perfect proportions that the watch represented. Hence, the new timepiece retains the case’s classic round form. But, its elegance is now further accentuated by the interplay of sharp edges and soft curves, and by a combination of polished and matte surfaces.

The watch naturally has a larger diameter than other watches in the collection. Still, the Manero Peripheral has retained its exquisite proportions, something that is also true of the piece’s painstakingly crafted dial. The appliquéd wedge-shaped indices have grown proportionately to the case, as has the minute hand that so accurately rotates around the chapter ring.

In this timepiece, the CFB A2050 calibre gets a more spacious frame. This automatic movement has been developed entirely in-house and powered by Carl F. Bucherer’s signature peripheral rotor. The rotor now runs inside the new 43-millimeter version of the Manero Peripheral as well. Certified as a chronometer, the movement features a central hour and minute display, a small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, and a date display at 3 o’clock. This automatic movement draws its power from a bidirectional automatic winding system with a peripheral rotor – a Carl F. Bucherer specialty. Its Geneva stripe decor serves to accentuate the elegance of the new Manero Peripheral; its 55-hour power reserve is a testament to the reliability of the timepiece.

What watch lovers will also highly appreciate is the warm colour combination. The light brown alligator leather strap with the warm tone of the rose gold watch case. The new 43-millimeter model is the latest addition to the Manero Peripheral family, whose other members feature 40.6-millimeter cases in either rose gold or stainless steel. These models are available with black or silver dials and with alligator-leather or stainless-steel straps.

With its contemporary new dimensions, this rose gold watch is an investment in timeless quality. The new model is designed to appeal to men who want to invest in quality while conveying poise and elegance.
