Time Unleashed

Girard-Perregaux

1966 Skeleton

The new 1966 Skeleton invites us on an enchanted journey into the mechanics of time. The large 30 mm movement has been skeletonized. What one sees is perfect visual balance. The contrast between the rhodium-plated gear train and the anthracite treatment chosen for the plate and bridges shows that this fascinating labyrinth has much more within. The skilled and meticulous processes of chamfering, drawing,
polishing and satin-brushing – all hand-executed by artisan-watchmakers, transform this watch into a piece of art. Indeed, the 173 parts within this watch are akin to the brushstrokes of an old master.

The 38 mm pink gold case of the watch elegantly holds this intricate piece of art. The watch has the mechanical automatic, GP01800-0006 calibre. It shows hours, minutes and small seconds. The outer ring has suspended hour-markers while the skeletonised visible plate and bridges have an anthracite-grey ruthenium treatment. A hand-stitched black alligator strap completes the look.
