RICHEMONT GROUP

New Leadership…

The Richemont Watch Brands have recently seen a flurry of activity in leadership roles. Four different brands are to get new heads.

At luxury watchmaker Piaget, Chabi Nouri will replace current Philippe Léopold-Metzger as CEO, from April 1, 2017. Léopold-Metzger leaves after a career spanning 36 years at Piaget and he will become a non-executive president of Piaget after retiring on March 31.

At Vacheron Constantin as well, current CEO Juan-Carlos Torres will retire and Louis Ferla, currently Managing Director for Marketing and Sales will takeover as CEO. Torres will continue as a non-executive president of the watch brand.

Daniel Riedo has left his position at Jaeger-LeCoultre and Georges Kern, Head of Watchmaking, Marketing and Digital at Richemont, is interim CEO.

Fabrizio Cardinali at Dunhill will be replaced by Andrew Maag, who had previously worked as head of India, Middle East, Africa and Europe for the well-known fashion brand Burberry.

These are significant changes at a group that occupies an important position in the world horological industry. What does it signify? What is the direction that the industry will take? As they say…time will tell!
