CHANGES IN THE BUSINESS…

In terms of the clock business there have been value additions in the market. With the innovations, prices have increased as well.

IMPACT OF FOREIGN BRANDS ON THE MARKET…

I feel that it has not really impacted the market share in a big way. There are brands from Japan and China. There is a change in the perception of people.

WATCH AND CLOCK INDUSTRY…

The scales are different. The clock industry may not have a large scale value as compared to the wrist watch.

CHALLENGES…

There is a general tendency amongst dealers and distributors that the low MRPs and ranges must continue. People today spend more on gadgets and accessories. The overall prices of clocks have not risen much. Hence people don’t really perceive them as items on which one can spend larger amounts! This stunts the growth of the
industry as a whole.

SMART CLOCKS….

We have travelled a lot recently, but not seen any such technological changes. But who knows about the future?

DIVERSIFICATION…

We have forayed into electrical lights and LEDs as well as electrical products. In clocks we have started a premium segment.
