CHANGES SEEN OVER THE YEARS…

Earlier price used to be the deciding factor. Times are
changing. Now there is demand for higher value clocks.
There is less growth volume wise but value wise there is growth. Exports have come down a bit in the last one year.

IMPACT OF FOREIGN BRANDS…

There is not much impact. They have not been able to take market share. They have got limited space on counters. They are also higher priced clocks. We have the same or better quality at a lower cost.

WATCH AND CLOCK INDUSTRY…

In the clock market we need larger counters. We need space to display wall clocks, which is a problem for retailers. Wrist watches offer more value and occupy less space.

CHALLENGES…

Our industry is facing a challenge related to exports. This is going down as there are problems with currency values etc.. The Indian market is going well, as people are willing to spend. We feel it should increase. It will grow
value-wise, if not volume-wise.
